Title: Nintendo Sharp Monitor 510YWB22 problems
Post by: General Zod on February 07, 2004, 04:30:31 pm
After a few weeks of collecting dust, I finally decided to do something with this monitor and connect her to my MAME testbench. ( if you want to call it that )   ;D

What a beautiful picture these Nintendo monitors have. Just the overall picture alone makes me wish I could forget about the problem I've encountered. Hopefully one of you can help me decide whats awry?

One a regular jamma board, and even connected to a real ms.pac cab, the picture is perfect. Nothing is cut from the top or bottom , however, when connected to my PC and through the Jpac ... all of the games are missing a little from both the top and bottom.

I'm using AdvMAME, an AVGA, and the jpac. Any ideas on how I can get this image to fit the screen properly. Perhaps a setting in AdvMAME? I know it's not the width coil or anything monitor-wise, because she works so beautifully with the other 3 games (uprights).

Any ideas ... please?

thanks.

Looks to me like you need to adjust the width coil as your picture is too wide.

Also, the Sharp monitor's model number is XM-2001N. The number you gave is the picture tube number.

Thank you!

I was wondering whether or not the width coil was the problem. I had hoped it wasn't, as the other games played fine when connected to that monitor.

Adjusting the width coil from what I read, can be quite tricky. Any advice you can give from having worked on these? I would appreciate your input, and treat it like scripture.

Thanks in advance ,

Mike
