Title: Easiest way to setup Jpac with Mamewah?
Post by: crapjoint on February 07, 2004, 03:52:24 pm
I am new to this and not very good with computers.  I'm a little confused trying to set up Mamewah.  Looking through it, i don't see where you set up the control inputs in it, especially for player 3 and 4.  Also, I'm getting a Jpac in, with an Ipac2 for extra inputs and an optipac for trackball and spinner.  What is the easiest way to set all this up in Mamewah?  Are there any good tutorials out there?

MAMEWAH doesn't require Players 3+4...in fact it doesn't really require any 'players' as such, as long as you have keys setup for the stuff you use (take a look in Control Options > Customise Controle).

If you want to setup MAME for use with your JPAC, I suggest using MAME's ctrlr ini files - read ctrlr.txt in your \mame\docs folder, and check out www.mameworld.net/easyemu :)

I went to control options and it only had the setup for controller 1 and 2 but no buttons?  Do all the games have to be set up separate in Mame itself or is there an easier way?

You need to setup the controls in MAME (ie not MAMEWAH), but you can do general settings which will work for all games.  As I said above, ctrlr ini files are the best way to do this, but you can also do it in the TAB menu of MAME, under 'Input (General)' :)
