It seems that ever since I upgraded to Windows XP that I have been unable to access www.mame.net or www.mameworld.net . I am using Internet Explorer 6.0 with all the latest updates as well as the latest updates for XP and my router. It simply times out when I try. I have AT&T broadband and gone through the 2nd level helpdesk and they can access it and after many tests now tell me that it is either a Windows XP or IE 6.0 problem. I doubt that but don't know what to do. I have cleared my cookies & temp files as well. FInally, I can access www.mame.net if I first go through www.anonymizer.com but anonymizer won't access mameworld.net as it thinks its a gaming site or something. This too would tell me it's a different problem. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate the help!

Ever try removing the router and using your internet connection directly?
-
I did move the computer to the DMZ so that should remove the router from the equation. I still come up with the same answer.
-
DMZ? Also are you going through an ISP that provides filtered content? These types of providers will block connections to certain servers they deem inappropriate.
-
Sorry....DMZ is a term for Demilitarized Zone which means that the computer is placed outside of the router. It is unprotected by the firewall. This is done with programs such as NetMeeting which oftne do not work behind a firewall. AT&T does not provide filtered content so that shouldn't be it either.
