front end and jukebox all in one. if my friends are done playing games, why not select mp3s and music vids instead of exiting the front end and starting arcade jukebox? that would be a cool feature.

To my knowledge my frontend is the only one that can do that for you.... Make a playlist called "default.m3u" with full paths to each file and put it in the main directory (It is winamp-generated playlist compatable.)..... add a list of all your songs/videos/ ect... it will play anything that the old school windows media player will. Invoke screensaver mode manually by pressing the screensaver key. You can toggle between play and pause by pressing select and pressing the refresh key will toggle between random and sequential play. The joystick will control forward/back and the volume. When you are playing music you will get the screensaver, but when you are playing videos it will appear instead of the artwork full screen.

when will we see pix of your new front end?

JukeboxFX will be released tonight. Adding video support should not be a problem if you let me know what formats you need support for.
Here are the details and new screenshots.

check out atomic fe there are plug in models that are very easy to setup and this is pretty customizable. I am building a cocktail project with this in mind.

 look on the date. It dated 2002....
... But it still ontopic this day.
Today market is diffecent than that time, and yes both GameEX and AtomicFE can play them.
Mamewah and other commandline based FE's can also been use by use with a commandline movieplayer, like that one I remembed created last year).
But a dedicated Jukebox software is still the best way for both music and music vidoes (if you ask me).
