Title: Mamewah image.
Post by: chrisindfw on February 04, 2004, 09:02:46 am
Help.

I am adding a image to my 640x480 mamewah screen. I basically have a picture of my control panel and want to put that on there to show which controls are used for that game.

I am having problems getting the image to look right on the screen so you can read it.

Right now I have a full size visio layout of the button group. I then save it as a png or something. Question. What resolution and size should I use to keep it able to read? Do I need to start with a smaller image and use that? Help.

Are you trying to use it as a background image?

If so, resize the image to 640x480 and then save...

If you want to have it in a particular area of the screen you may want to resize it smaller than that, and 'fill it out' to 640x480 (ie enlarge the canvas) before saving.

This is Artwork #2 for example. It will go below the screenshot of the game.

I need to know what size/resolution to make that image above so it is still readable. I need it shrunk to about the size of the regular snap image?

Open your layout in the Layout Editor, click on your Artwork #2 and look for the size (in pixels) in the bottom status bar.

Then make your control panel images the same size as this, so that it will not be stretched and will keep it's quality.  You may have to do a bit of work on your art after resizing (eg re-do the text) if it becomes unclear.

Hope that helps
