Title: Question> MAME Multithreading

Can anybody confirm how many cores I'll need for a new MAME machine to run ideally and not go overboard? I've found a number of legacy threads asking essentially the same question but nothing in the last 3ish years and each thread from different years had varying answers. It'll be running the current version of MAME, 0.197.

To get an understanding of the sort of games MAME will be operating. The most demanding ones will be Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 3 and CAVE shoot em ups.

If I can get away with 2 cores and have it running smoothly I was considering this as it's cheap with decent power to each core:

I’m using in my arcade machine i3 2100 2 core 4 thread and it runs gauntleg over 100%.
