Title: help with jamma connector - right speaker slot
Post by: Sephroth57 on February 03, 2004, 10:30:41 pm
my dark legacy cabinet was converted from something else, that apparently was mono. because theres only 1 speaker grill cut in the wood below the marquee and only 1 speaker is hooked up. in the gauntlet legends manual according to the pinout slot 11 & M are where the right speaker wires should go, but there arent any, so i thought oh easy ill just put some wires in and hook up a speaker. well i take off the jamma connector and looked at the bottom part that connects to the board itself. and the spots for 11/M dont have the little brass thingies that grab onto the board. like if you look at your connectors bottom that doesnt use all the inputs the slots are blank... where would i get those little things to slide into my 11/M slots? or do i not need them? but then what would hold in the wire?

Bob Roberts sells the JAMMA connector pins that slip into your connector.

If you're NOT going to be swapping boards often, I've done this before:

Solder 2 wires onto the jamma board for the pins you're missing, slide them through the jamma connectorso they stick out the other side. Voila.

If you need to swap boards often, then pulling and pushing the wires in and out of the jamma adapter all the time just SUCKS, so don't even TRY IT. But if it's a permanent thing....
