im going to be wiring my cp, and in the past ive used 22 gauge wire, but its very stiff and not flexible. ive heard of several people using 22 gauge stranded wire. i went to home depot to pick up a metal straight edge and a cutting guide, as well as some quick disconnects (although i couldve saved buy getting them online) and i looked for 22 gauge stranded and they didnt have it. where should i get this? im sure radio shack has it, but i wonder how much. where do most people get their wire?

Radio Shack does indeed have it. The one I got was 90 feet for ~$7.00. I'm trying to find a bulk source for it now since I've been asked several times if I carry the disconnects and wire too.

therealbobroberts not only sells them... but also has a 10 back of 10 colors (100ft) for a buck more then 100 feet of one color. A nice option.
I bought 500 feet of boundary wire from homedepot (red, nice flex, coiled, easy easy to use)... but its only red... and all my control panels...well...look red... But I got it for 1/2 the price I've seen anything else.

Is 22 gauge stranded what most people use?
Would it be better to use something thicker?

Hosfelt Electronics (www.hosfelt.com) has an excellent selection of stranded wire at very reasonable prices. Check out their part numbers 36-188 through 36-197 (the 25 foot lengths) and # 36-198 through 36-207 (the 100 foot lengths).

Not bad prices at that hosfelt place, BUT....you still have to pay for shipping so that pushes it up to the 7-10 area... :-\
