:'(
I just received my merchandise from Red Octane.
I ordered two arcade style cases with playstation pcbs.
http://www.redoctane.com/arcadecasepcb.html
Both items arrived damaged.
The black lexan near the word Red Octane is damaged.
The plexiglass is also cracked and scratched.
This is my first order from Red Octane and I'm very disappointed!
I spoke with a live person and I'm trying to get it straightened out.
Right now a live person is unavailable.
Will let you know what happens.

Also, I assumed that all the ends would connect to Happs joysticks and buttons.
Some of the cable ends are too small to connet to the Happs competition buttons that I have.
I realize I can solder these connections but I was trying to avoid this.
I guess I can get the proper connections from Radio Shack.
Basically, I'm unable to plug the playstation cable from Red Octane on some of my Happs buttons because the microswitch connector is too big.

I sent an email to john@modeverything.com for future reference.
This is just in case I need him to make a playstation pcb kit for me.
I sent Infrasonic (SP?) a private email yesterday but haven't heard anything.
-
Hope you get it sorted.

This is just my opinion but its poor form to publicly blast a company before giving them a chance to make it right.
If they don't lampoon them but at least give them a chance.

It's just frustrating to receive damaged merchandise on the first order.
I mean, I'm planning on having a home theater/arcade party for a cousin who will be six today.
The party will be this Sat.
I wanted to surprise him with a playstation in an arcade cabinet.
I'm returning the merchandise to Red Octane.
I guess I'll get a guy friend to attempt to solder some generic playstation joypads for me, if not, oh well.

SNAAAKE,
Really, really dumb blonde question.
I assume your playstation joypad soldering includes the .187 female quick connects and the psx controller cable is attached to the pcb.
When I received Red Octane's I guess I assumed the psx controller cable was going to be soldered to the pcb.
Also, I assume you have 10 solder points for the following:
(1. joystick up, 2. joystick down, 3. joystick left, 4. joystick right, 5. square, 6. circle, 7. triangle, 8. x, 9. select and 10. start)
Thanks!

yes I will put quick disconnects on the wires.

Ill add some info about redoctane.
I ordered (from germany) two empty joystick boxes (only the shipping is 90$).
What I got is two unusable boxes, boths have pexiglass at the top (empty redoctane boxes are not suposed to have pexiglass), the pexiglass is:
1- Broken
2- Scratched
3- Holes are not aligned with the wood holes so its imposible to mount buttons
At first moment the most surprising thing was that from the boxes came out a cable that looked like an Xbox joystiick cable. But Im still not able to close my mouth after the suprise I got after opening the boxes (and I opened them yesterday) inside of every box is the body of a crap (low quality) joystick wired to what it looks an Xbox PCB. mmm?!
I removed the plexiglass because its unusable, but now I have two ugly holes in the wood (because of the pexiglass mounting).
Next surprise is when I tried to mount the Happ Super's... the shaft touches with the bottom panel!!! so imposible to play with the bottom panel... I have the feeling that its imposible also to play without the mounting panel because I think the joystick touches also with the ground.
Why I say "I think" (now comes the next surprise) because I was not able to mount the joystick... why? because the mounting holes fits perfectly to the (crap) included body joystick but doesnt fit to the mounting hole on the happ's (by 1 mm or so. but doesnt fit) so I have to enlarge the holes.
??? ??? ??? ???
Ive writed to Redoctane.. I want to think they have sent me the wrong packet and not what I asked. Now lets see if they send me (without cost of course) what I really asked for.

I've had problems with redoctane before too. I ordered one of those arcade controler cases with playstation PCB and the PCB didn't work.
I emailed them for 3 weeks trying to get a response, but I got nothing! I eventually gave up and now plan not to purchase from them again.
IMO, for anything arcade related you should buy from the following places, Happcontrols.com, Ultimarc.com, and Oscarcontrols.com. If they don't have what you need, usually someone on the boards will have it available. ;)

thanks for the heads up, guys 8)

Well, Ill keep waiting... (hope is the last that should be lost) ;D
