Here is another one called Digital Jukebox that is in BETA stages, the writer is very open to changes and requests. It's really fast also, but keep in mind it's in early BETA...
BTW His site crashed last week and the message board looks empty, don't be fooled he is very active and get's a new version out every 2-3 weeks.

First, great job to all of you for the software. I'm following the development of each version of each program in the hopes of getting that perfect app for my needs. I also am using Jukebox for Winamp, which is a good program. It's kind of sloppy to navigate, but I think that its functionality is its strongpoint right now. Being able to sort by Album, Artist, Genre, etc.. along with its search functions make it great to use. Too bad it isn't its own intity in that it only frontends Winamp. Ideally, I will probably have a small touch-screen (about 7" or so) on the jukebox cabinet. This apps interface is the perfect size for just that. But if you guys keep going, I'm sure I'll be switching over to one of yours soon enough. Check out this app at:

Until then, keep up the great work!!

To get the perfect frontend of jukebox you will have to develop your own. ;D That is the only reason I created JFX and AFX.
I have used that winamp jukebox and found it to be clunky. Every thing is so big and the UI is not full screen. I hate running at 640 x 480. I think the resolution might be even smaller than that?
Howard is developing his jukebox as a Winamp application. I did not want to be tied into winamp. I have winamp visualization dlls working in JukeboxFX. Not all of them work but there is a handfull that play full screen that look great.

Hahaha.... oh Jukebox for Winamp has definitely got some issues. But this is what I'm thinking. With it centered in the middle of a touchscreen monitor, its whole inteface would take up only about 7" or so. This would be the only thing visible on the control area of the cabinet, which is touchscreen in my case, so the larger buttons work out great. Of course this is all canceptual at this point, so I can't say it for certain. haha. What I do like especially with your software is the look. That classic jukebox look is a great touch I think needs to transfer over to many of the other apps. Thanx!

have you started to look at touch screens yet? I could use a nice small touch screen if it wasn't too much. Another thing that would be cool is a monitor like the TVs for cars that could flip down or up. Then I could had it away.

Well here's my idea on the touchscreen. I have an extra monitor. You can buy this screen that fits over your monitor's to make it a touchscreen monitor. It's usually around $50 on E-bay. Would take the place of the mouse completely. Like I said, I would only want a small area of it visible(who wants a whole monitor sticking off of their nice cabinet?) so I would only have the particular area that is my MP3 frontend visible(7" roughly).. I think that would be a nice touch. Classy even. And it sure beats the hundreds of dollars for an actual touchscreen monitor or one of the flip-ups you mentioned (although they are sweet!). Anyway, that's my idea anyway. Let me know what ya think.

I'm actually developing my fe for use in my car as well, it will also use a touch screen. I'm looking for a small lcd (about 6-10 inches) for it. If someone can find me a good price on one it would speed up development as i only have my monitor to test it on right now. The reason i went with winamp is because of all the great plugins for it.
The playlist is actually handled in the fe though.
Btw Afx if you've got some source to launch winamp visualizations I would appreciate it if you'd share the wealth. My layout right now has visualization areas on either sides and I need a way to spawn two versions of each visualization, one for each side.
