Title: Pacman wierd colours
Post by: andyshan on February 03, 2004, 05:48:20 pm
Hello everyone,

I've asked this question before, but i've not been successful in figuring out a resolution for it, when ever i try and play Pacman on my Hantarex 9000 arcade monitor (which is connected to a SIS6326 graphics card, J-pac, PentIII450mhz system) inside my cab, the colours are all... well... iffy. for instance, the ghosts are the wrong colour, pacman is BLUE and the maze is like an orangy colour. Even the start up "press OK to continue" is illuminous green/orange!

I'm using AdvanceMAME and AdvanceMENU... anything anyone could do to help would be fantastic!

Best regards to all

Andy

*** EDIT: please remember that i am quite a newbee to mame and while i don't mind editing the config files, a little explanation would be extremely useful. Once again thanx to all that help.

If I remember correctly (I don't have a service manual handy) I think the Hantarex monitors have the red and blue video input connector pins reversed from normal arcade monitors.

Help? (!!!)

Make sure that the wires are connected to the inputs for postive video not negative video.

In addition, try making sure your ROMs are correct, and not having bad color dumps.

But i've used a JPAC for the interface between graphics card and monitor... so i'm not sure what u mean by the positive and negative inputs are connected....

also, what do you mean by 'bad color dumps'...

i'm sorry, but i am a bit of a newbee here :-)
