Title: Performace/audio fluctuation
Post by: TwitstedEpoch on April 06, 2018, 07:18:30 pm
Hi all, has anyone experienced a strange performance fluctuation when playing some console games? It happens to me when playing SNES games on GM. The performance fluctuates between 98% and 102% which causes wobbly audio. The strange thing is that as soon as I hit TAB to bring up the menu, it stabilises and stays at 100%, even after closing the menu. Everything else seems to be working perfectly, including arcade games.

Video here: https://youtu.be/GG6DJAG2RxA

I can't seem to create a log file for this as it's promoting for a software list which I'm not using. The roms are all controlled by my frontend unfortunately.

GroovyMAME 0.196
Sony BVM
Win 7
CRT Emudriver 2.0
Radeon 5XXX

Cheers.

Quick update, I have worked out how to launch the rom via the command line by using the -cart option. Log file attached.

this kind of issue is due to a lack of power.
I had similar problem with cave cv1k games. Until someone points the windows power plan.

before doing any tweak in gm or changing emulator, try this :

Are you using frame delay?

Thanks funkycochise, I have just checked and my system is already set to high performance.

Hi Calamity, my frame delay is set to 0.

what is your configuration ?
snes elulation should’nt be that demanding.
on a Intel i3, ck1k are working flowlessly.
and it’s much more demanding.

else you can try mednafen. there is a special build outta here.
maybe worth a try

I'm using a 5th gen i7 @ 4.0Ghz and 16GB of ram.
