Title: Naomi Net Dimm advice
Post by: Mike A on March 22, 2018, 08:04:58 am
I am picking up a candy cab in a couple weeks. I think it has a Pandora's Box in it currently. I would like to chuck that and throw a Sega Naomi in it. I don't have any direct experience with Naomi hardware. I know there is a Net Dimm module that allows you to load game images over a network. That is what I would like to do. What all do I need?

In my setup I used a Sun Power Supply (or if you have a Capcom I/O you can mod it to output 3.3v) , a Pi3 and the Net DiMM. You power the Pi from the Naomi 12v out, and run a crossover cable to the netdimm from it. Load up PiForceTools and all the ROMs, fire it up, connect to the built in AP from any wireless device and pick a game.

Others push games from their PCs, or even set up LCDs connected to the GPIO.

TwistedSymphony did a fantastic write up over at Arcade-Projects: https://www.arcade-projects.com/forums/index.php?thread/1086-how-to-net-boot-naomi-tri-force-chihiro-using-pi-force-tools/ (https://www.arcade-projects.com/forums/index.php?thread/1086-how-to-net-boot-naomi-tri-force-chihiro-using-pi-force-tools/)

Doesn’t the Pi use 5v, not 12v?
