Hello forum, I have a street fighter 2 pcb that I would like to play but I only have a Mortal Kombat 2 cabinet at the moment. The Jamma harness for the mk2 uses -5v. Would it be safe to use the same harness to play street fighter 2 since street fighter 2 does not use -5v? ??? Thank you.

Perfectly safe. Although you still need a kick harness that goes from the PCB to the controls for the kick buttons. Hence it's name.

The -5V pins on that Street Fighter board don't go anywhere.

Ok! Thank you so much. I’ll try it out this weekend!

Are there any pcbs that can be harmed by -5v? I have a cps2 marvel vs capcom, and a 1 slot neo geo mvs model MV1 I think. I guess the question would be can I use this harness on all jamma standard PCBs without harm? Thank you.

Yes, no problem. Some early boards used -5V for "Three rail RAM" chips such as TMS4060 which needed +5, +12 and -5. Later boards the pin is not wired to anything on the board.
