Title: Help me choose a marquee!!

Hey everyone!

I just finished building a new controller with a marquee (looks like a bartop without a monitor) and need to decide on a design for my marquee. Because of the form factor, the marquee will need to be much more stretched than standard marquees. Printing these things get expensive, so I'm trying to design the graphic myself (although I may just break and find somebody on fiverr given my very poor Gimp skills).

I dont like any of them that much tbh.

The first few are dull and messy with no flow or theme.

The street fighter one is ok but Honda looks to low and there is some strange looking guy towards the end who I have never seen before!

The pac man one is kind of cool but is lacking something, to much dead space in the middle.

I assume you are back lighting this?
Black does not look great when back lit in large areas.

Maybe give the controller a name and spell it out in power pellets? Or put a maze back drop in?

A plain black or white acrylic panel with no backlight would probably look okay there. A colorful marquee won't fit with the black and white of the rest of the controller.

For the love of God, don't put the beard graphic on there.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Just confirmed my feelings that the marquees were crap. I threw a couple more up there (just because I used to love Spy vs Spy), but still don't love those. If anything, the marquee needs to be very simple. I like the maze idea... or just simple text. I'll keep playing around, but focus on "less is more".

If you dont like em then you straight off to a bad start lol

Anything you dislike now will be magnified 10 fold in real life lol

It needs to fit the look/style of your build and be eye catching.

Remember the purpose of a marquee was to draw the attention of someone to play it.
And tell you what game it is obv :p

My favorite is the spy vs spy, the last one... I like how everything is black and white except for the bomb/dynamite
