DEFAULT SETTINGS

- One credit only!
- No continues or adding credits!
- No MAME cheats!
- Last day is Sunday March 25 (11:59:59pm Pacific Daylight Time), 2018.
- High score wins.
- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.
- MAME INP recordings are encouraged but optional.
- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the game screen.
- If you're a MARP competitor on this title, keep in mind this is just a friendly competition amongst forum members, so maybe you shouldn't enter. However, if you're a forum member and this is a game you're good at and nobody knows about it, this is your time to shine!
- Even if you don't have a competitive score or if you don't *think* that you have a competitive score, please post it anyway to keep the thread fun & to give everybody a good sense of score ranges.
-Please make sure your scores are from games that take place during the competition period (no posting your best score from last year, etc.).

I had never played this game before, but man is it fun! I don't think I'm very good at it though. Reminds me of Burgertime quite a bit. But yeah this might be one of my new favorites.

Nice, I know what you mean. The more you play the more you kind of find the strategy. I hate that damned waterfall... I doubt I'll be able to beat your score, but I'll certainly try. :)

The last Roc'n Rope challenge ended with a score of 236k plus change. At level 6. So there is plenty of room for improvements.

38,700 level 1 first guy. Got all six baddies with the last egg. Then I botched the rest of the game, of course. But still, that was a nice moment that probably won't happen again.

A strategy to get 7,300 right at the start.
Shoot the rope to the platform on the right, climb it, drop off the platfom at the right end. Run to the egg, make a few steps to the right to catch the dino. Go left immediately a few steps past the point the neanderthal climbing down will appear. Don't worry about catching him, he'll come to you. Shoot the rope to the left while he's still climbing down, wait for him to kill himself, shimmy up the rope and kill the dino on the left. Collect the feather, bingo, you just got 7,300 points.
Sometimes the dino on the left just wanders offscreen at the wrong moment, that's your clue to restart.

Looks like popsicle made 3rd place again. Since he hasn't been online since March 21, I doubt that he will be back to choose the next game. I'd say we give him time until tomorrow, then it's up to the player who made 2nd place to do the next round. Which happens to be me.
So, if popsicle doesn't show up and someone has a favorite game that he/she wants to play, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks man, I had a lot of fun going back a forth with you on this one. And I discovered a new favorite game. I'm going to try to make myself a regular in the competitions, I really had a blast score chasing.
Probably doesn't make sense for the first place guy to suggest games but since I've never played it I'll mention Pandora's Palace. I just found out about the game yesterday, looks kinda similar to Roc n Rope. Maybe too similar to be the next game but I figured I'd throw it out there.
Also in the future, I'd love to see some City Connection or Flicky action... :cheers:

My vote is for anything that was popular. It's just my 2c, though. Anything is fine. I've been preoccupied lately with responsibilities and some other avenues of fun, but i think I'm wrapping some of that up.

I've tried out Pandora's Palace, I like it, though it has some secrets that can influence the score quite a bit, something which I'm not a fan of. Since we did the reboot of the challenge to get to play some of the popular games again, I'll choose one of the classics for the next challenge. Pandora's Palace is on my list, though, and I will choose it nex time.
