Title: Adapting Measurements for Tv Size
Post by: Bigbadmamajama on March 05, 2018, 12:20:22 pm
Hello everyone,
I've been working on my cabinet for the last week or so and I'm at a critical junction. I have the plans for the North Coast Custom Arcades Ultimate Arcade II, but my monitor size is not the same as the one in the plans. I have of course looked at Chance Johnson's work, and his cabinet plans shows a 32 inch lcd monitor, which is what I have. Here's my question.
It would appear that the original plans that I have call for the width of the inner boards of the cabinet to be 12 1/4 inches, while Chance's calls for 30 inches...which is obviously vastly different. I'm wondering what I should do about cutting out the panels based on two different plans. And...how these differences will impact the control panel that will be sitting in the front. Any and all perspectives/ideas are welcome. Thank you all in advance.

Honestly the plans you have are for a cabinet with a 27" 4:3 CRT, nothing you can do to it is going to make it look right with a 32" widescreen LCD (which is actually a smaller overall monitor by the way).

If you do want to do that anyway, just follow the Ultimate Arcade II plans, you just have to make the cabinet 2" wider.

If you want to buy a monitor the size that cabinet was designed around then you want this.

Or a used D9200 or Makvision trimode or VGA.
