I just recently purchased a "super" JAMMA harness from a reputable arcade supply company.
When I try to insert the game board into the JAMMA slot on the new harness, it is VERY tight and difficult to insert; so much so that I'm worried I'm going to break and/or damage the connector on the board.
I understand that there should be a tight fit, but it seems to me like it is too tight.
Has anyone experienced something like this? Should I force the board in or is it possible this particular harness slot has an issue?
BTW - I have verified I'm inserting the board the correct (keyed) way.
TIA

There's your problem right there...

Perhaps :)
It was actually a harness that I have seen recommended here so I went with it...

Have you more than one PCB at hand? Could the PCB connector be the problem?
Eventually buy a jamma harness, insert and remove it a few time and it will do the job.

Yep - same issue/tightness with all my PCBs. They fit fine in an older harness I have.
I'll try inserting and removing an older PCB board I have with the hope it will listen up the new harness connection...
