Is there any jukebox software out there that would support a touchscreen monitor?
I want something that can play mp3's as well as music videos (mpg and avi) in fullscreen.
And I guess when an mp3 is being played some form of graphic display can fill the screen like what is found in many commercial mp3 players.
Thanks,
Andy

I'm working on it, that's what the DJ will eventually evolve into. All a jukebox needs to be touch screen compatable is good mouse support, which unfortunately I don't have yet. :(
As for graphic info, I'm not sure what you could display when an mp3 is playing. I currently display the bitrate the song position the title and artist and it barely takes up 1/4 of the screen. I Support cover art, but it's shown in a very tiny area right now. I will have some type of idle mode in the near future that will probably display stuff in song list area, but I'm not sure yet.

I think that's a hint for someone to donate a touchscreen to him for testing.....

Hey I'm not proud....
All your hardware is belonging to us.

Since a touch screen works just like clicking a mouse any application that has buttons that are clicked would work with a touch screen.
They make touch screen overlay that are inexpensive. You can put these right over your monitor and turn any regual monitor into a touch screen. I am not sure if it would work if the touch screen would work over plexi or not but I don't see why not. It should not need to physically be over the monitor just as long as the screen is square over the monitor.
ArcadeFX and JukeboxFX would work great with a touch screen since they have full mouse support.

I've decided to make the dragonator jukebox an open-source project. I merely wanted to prove the concept that a winamp front-end was not only do-able, but the way to go as it gives you all the power of winamp. I have used all the major winamp commands in this project and to add new features would be extremely easy.
As my real project is emulator front-ends I know I won't be able to give this project the attention it needs. If anyone would decide to build upon this project I would be more than willing to make thier variant of it the official build and post it instead of my versions. (Pending my approval of course.)
Look for the source code to pop up on the old rd homepage very soon.

The links are at the bottom of my signature Andy.
Also the ArcadeFX messageboard is at the top to this page. Just look for the ArcadeFX/JukeboxFX link.

ArcadeFX, how about a link to this inexpensive touchscreen stuff that we can hook up to a pc?

Here are a few.
http://www.abtouch.com/default.asp - This one is kind of like a cover with hard/plastic covers.
http://magictouch.com/builtin.html - this on appears to be more flexible.
http://www.touchscreens.com/products-addon.html - lots of options here.
http://www.touchwindow.com/add-on.htm - some more.
Hope this helps.

Those are some good links but the price doesn't seem too inexpensive to me. For a 17 inch they're running about 200 bucks! I can almost get a used video poker touch monitor for that. I'll have to look into the one's that don't have prices though.....
thanks.

Well I don't what happened to them all, but on E-bay, an overlay to turn a 17" monitor into a touchscreen was only going for about $50! Seem to have all vanished or maybe I just forget what to search for (there were tons of them!). Anyways, it's a much cheaper way than a monitor.

I want to get a dual-screen going with the primary as a touch screen (for song selection) and the secondary as the visualizations screen. Is there anything out there can do that?
I want to mount the touch screen into an arcade control panel and use the larger screen for visualizations, videos, or anything else up on the larger main screen. I could even just use an arcade monitor for that.

Hmm.... what about two computers? Use one really low-end computer (386, 486, p120, whatever's lying in a scrap pile) to drive the touch screen, and send the selections to the PC that actually produces the sound and the visualizations?

You could get multiple video cards, or a video card that supported multiple monitors.

You might want to try www.apejukebox.com I use this with a touchscreen and it works great. It is designed for a touch screen interface.

When I get some money in the future I plan on putting a touchscreen in my car and run winamp (along with my gps stuff).
I found for winamp2 a good visualization called triplex3. It's like geiss, but when the mouse moves (ie touch the screen) winamp controls show up. That way with a single screen you don't have to shut the visuals off and still control winamp. I've been searching for other plugins that do this and have yet to find one.
