Title: Turning on arcade with no controls?

I'm in the process of upgrading my control panel and have all the joysticks and buttons disconnected.

I will be receiving my repaired monitor soon (before the new controls are ready).

Would it cause any issues if I were to hook up the monitor and power on the machine without controls connected to quickly test the monitor ? 

I assume this wouldn't cause an issue but wanted to verify. :)

Not unless you have left any wires with bare ends that might short.
