Title: Need some help on paint for game room!
Post by: BLACK KNIGHT on February 02, 2004, 02:11:32 pm
I'm trying to come up with a paint scheme for my new game room.  The drywall is up and is being sanded and stuff, so I think painting is going to be soon.  I'm not sure what color I want it or anything yet.  But my wife isn't gonna let me get too crazy.  The room is about 17'x20'.  You can see some pics here:  http://mywebpages.comcast.net/mtremblay/Addition/index.htm

I plan on putting at least 3 arcade games in here and have a couple of red neon signs that say 'Game Room' and 'Open'.  I'm also probably putting in a big screen t.v. and home theater system and a foosball table.  So I need a paint color that will go with all this.  And keep in mind my kitchen and dining room will be pretty much open to the game room.  Okay, so any of you artsy Trading Spaces type of people whatcha think?!?

dark blue/navy type of color possibly? I like dark colors and when i think of arcades i think of either wood panel walls (which is ugly for a house), or a dark type of atmosphere. plus since youre gonna have a TV and it will be a Den/game room type atmosphere i think a a darker color would look good.

I've always been partial to dark wood wainscotting around the bottom with a dark green paint-like forest green or something-gives it that pub feel--you could also put those green glass tinted shades on the lights to make it look gameroom-ish.
