I've only owned a few arcades in my life and having some issues with this one. Just bought a 2004 golden tee fore and it powers on but there is no display and also no sound. The power light is red which states it needs adjusted. The D5A is blinking green, D77 red light is solid on, D20 is flashing green and D2 is flashing red. It also makes a pop pop pop sound about every 10 seconds. Thanks for all the help in advance!

Check the wires going into the jamma connector carefully. I had issues with sound and video on a couple of versions of golden tee's and both turned out to be bad connections from the piins in the jamma to the cpu. If you have needed to pull the jamma off several times it is suspect.
-
Ok I'll check that!! I haven't had to mess with the jamma but I will for sure check that out when I get home and post the results!! Thanks!!
-
it helps to take a pink pencil eraser and give the pins a scrub down with it. gets rid of the oxidation those pins on the board get.
-
I've pulled the jamma and cleaned it and it didn't seam to help.....ugh this is driving me crazy. The status lights are blinking. The red hard drive light is working and I can hear the hard drive working. Checked the volts and adjusted them correctly. The D77 red light stays lit and the popping sound is the same sound it makes when you push the SW31 button
-
SW31 is a reset button... not going to help you much.
reseat your video card. it's a pain to do, but often the problem of no video or crashing.
status lights are blinking, that's good. games don't normally make noise until you coin up and press start kind of thing.
double check your board resolution is set to match your monitor.
-
I'm having a rough time getting the video card off lol. I'm not getting any sound either. Would that be through the video card as well?
-
it can be quite difficult. it's not really made to come off easily. the little screws and nuts are really finicky.
The sound comes from the board directly, not the videocard...but typically operators of games disable the attract sounds so the game doesn't constantly make noise. so even if it boots up... and it's running, it may not be making any noise.
let us focus on getting video first so we can see what is going on. then we can work on the sound.
-
Well that didn't make a difference....
-
This has to be something simple. Status lights are blinking. Hard drive light is blinking. The 4 red lights on the left side of the board are off besides 2nd from the top(D77) is on. The screen is grey with white lines. It just keeps trying to reset every 10 seconds or so. I cleaned about everything on it. Right at start up if I wiggle the wires going into the jamma it will flash green for a min then stop and I cant recreate it. Ugh...I picked this game up for my brother as a gift and would love to get it going...thank you all for your help so far...
-
a weird liney picture is generally not a good sign... honestly, BLACK is better.
it's entirely possible the video card is no good. did you purchase this knowing or have proof it was fully working... or know for sure this was good?
-
Well the screen was black...I adjusted the picture to show this color with lines. The guy I got it from said it use to work then one day he turned it on an the screen was black.
-
Anyone have a video card for sale?? Lol 😩😩😩
-
I might have one kicking around. I'll have a look in our warehouse this week.
in the meantime, send a PM to "ed12" with the video symptoms you describe and see if he confirms as well.
-
Real quick...I hooked up the vga cable to one of my laptops and the screen on the laptop came up on the screen on the game!
-
If I wanted to swap out video cards to see if that's it...could I just pull one from a computer and swap it out? Or does it have to to be a certain one? Thanks again for all the help! I see light at the end of the tunnel! 🙏🙏🙏
-
no, it must be that card specifically. (Actually 2 cards) Which card do you have on there? there was a change in cards midway through production.
-
Says 2000 3DFX interactive inc
-
3dfx Voodoo3 2000 graphics card - Voodoo 3 - 16 MB Series PCI VGA?
-
Yep, I know the one you mean. I'll have a dig through my parts boxes in the warehouse and let you know If I got one.
-
That would be awesome!!! Thank you very much!!!
-
Did you try to unplug the small video cable from the board to the video card and plug in a Vga cable to an old PC monitor directly to the video card? The game should display on your pc monitor.
-
Yeah I did it that way first and got no picture both both dipswitch settings 😩
-
Did you find one lilshawn?? 🙏🙏🙏
-
I'm still looking. I know I have a loose board somewhere... I used it as a video card in a computer a long while back... so it's here somewhere.
too much crap.
give me till the end of the day... I'll dig one up somewhere.
-
You're the best! I seriously appreciate it!
-
Okay I got one here. looks like at one time I fixed/replaced/resoldered the VGA connector on it... so it's a little ugly, but it does work.
i popped it into a board and tested it and it seems to work just fine.
-
Ok cool! Willing to part ways with it? 🙏🙏😁😁

sent you a PM
