Title: U2000 signal input connector sequence?
Post by: asantora on January 31, 2018, 10:23:48 pm
Picked up a 25 inch u2000 that doesn’t have an video input connector. Can’t locate a manual online anywhere for this model. Anyone have one? Before I mess something up by assuming, can someone please confirm the input signal / pin setup?  It appears to have a 6 pin connector, spacer, 3 pin connector.

Thank you!!

Ken,  thank you very much. I see that there’s ground, vertical hold and horizontal in two places. I suppose I can connect just to one of the two locations as they are interconnected. This that correct? Thanks again, I’ve been looking everywhere for this.

No, there are two different types of sync inputs and whoever drew the schematic left off the + and - symbols.

The two sync inputs farthest away from the color inputs are the negative sync inputs (-Vert and -Horiz).

The two sync inputs closest to the color inputs are positive sync inputs (+Vert and +Horiz).

JAMMA games use negative sync.

That's the SCREEN control. Think of it like a coarse brightness control. Normally you don't need to adjust it.

you might want to crank DOWN the contrast a tad, you blue is bleeding out a bit.

Shawn, good eye. When I turn down the contrast, the display is very dim. I’ve cranked the brightness, only to go so far, I then tweaked the screen control / coarse brightness, but it washes out everything. I’ve been reading and think I might need to check R111 and R811, does that sound right?

NO. You want to turn down the "Blue Cutoff" control on the neck board. It's just a tad bit too high causing the blue color to bleed a little.

don't forget, this is 20 year old technology, it's not going to be a bright as modern flatpanel tv's and whatnot.

if you can keep your spurs from jingling... you can turn it back up as it was before.... but go to your neckboard and turn down the blue "cutoff" a teeny tiny bit. that may clean up your bleeding.

Damn you guys are spot on. Prior to reading this message, I over tweaked things. Read this thread, went back to basics and tweaked from there and it’s looking insanely good. Thank you so much!!
