Title: Emulators for CRT monitor with super resolutions
Post by: haynor666 on January 28, 2018, 10:50:03 am
I'm right now switching from old XP x32 with native resolutions to windows 7x64 with only super resolutions.

It's really sad but some of my emulators either does not work correctly or does not correctly switch into fullscreen and/or switch resolutions in the middle of emulation. More over some works and switch correctly cannot work in fullscreen using super resolutions (does not ignore aspect ratio but forcing ratio 1:1 or 4:3).

So now question is what emulators besides Mednafen and groovymame does work correctly with windows 7x64 and super resolutions?

Nothing forces you to use super resolutions only. You can use super resolutions for GM/Mednafen and normal resolutions for the rest of emulators.

But I prefer to use super resolution because geometry for super resolution can be aligned better for super resolutions.

For example it's almost impossible to center nicely 256x240 but 2560x240 could be centered on TV almost perfect.

Did some tests and only Mednafen so far works correctly with such resolutions. All other emus simply refuses to show picture on whole screen nicely :/
