Title: Can T-molding be applied to 90° cut?
Post by: mimic on January 09, 2018, 08:52:03 pm
Is it possible to apply continuous strip of T-molding to 90° angle without bulging, or does the corner needs to be round? If it can be, examples? (Can't find any)

I did a test and cut out about 1" the T-Molding sticks to the corner, but the rest is bulging out, or is it because nothing keeps it in anymore for about 3/8 in each direction?

just cut Vs into the spine so that when you bend the tmolding, they fill in and touch . they should have at most 1/8" gap like domo teeth

Got it, thank you!

EDIT: I saw somewhere (can't find it now, it was some kind of blog) how to nicely bring edges together when putting on finishing touches, it looked very neat and just a perfectly matching edges any chance you have some examples how to wrap it and bring it together the T-molding?

I always make it meet where you cant see it, like the back or bottom of the cab.

It’s very difficult to make it do a 90 degree turn. I always used a small radius.

I add glue and clamp it down.

Not much to it to make it seamless. Shave off little by little until it's seamless.
But I'm lazy and have my seams at the bottom. I think I even left a gap.

I use a mallet and hit it with a little sideways pressure to pull it hard into the corner. Mine look pretty good. I have used some glue in the past just to be sure.
