I am pulling my hair out!! I've asked about this before, but I still haven't been able to resolve my problem. I am running Windows XP Pro, and am running the latest version of Mamewah. I am trying to get Mamewah to autorun when I switch on my cab - but whatever I try I just can't get to happen!
I've tried running Mamewah as a shell - but it just crashed my PC, and I'm not comfortable playing around with that part of Windows.
So the obvious answer would be to get Mamewah.exe to run under Startup, and this is where I can't get it to run automatically. I've created a shortcut in this file, restarted and yet it just will not work. Suffice to say this is a major pain - as I have to open up my cab, get the mouse and navigate to Mamewah to startup.
Please, please can anyone help with this??

What happened when you tried? Error's ? Failed to start? etc..
Did you simply put a shortcut in the startup group or sis you add a registry enrty?
If it didn't error out I would add a string value to the registry to launch it.
start
run
regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Run
right click the right payne and selct NEW -->String
Then specify a name for the the string
then edit the string and give it the value
the data value would be the full path to MAMEWAH.EXE
Hope this helps

Gozur,
I just put a shortcut in the all users startup group. Windows loaded and nothing happens...
But I'm now really close...I've followed the advice you've given and set up the string value in the registry in the place you've suggested. I've named the string 'MAMEWAH'. The string value is set to: C:\MAMEWAH\MAMEWAH.exe (the location of my .exe file)
When firing up Windows, it seems to try to start Mamewah, but I get an error message popping up:
Mamewah
Run-time error '52'
Bad file name or number
But when I just double click on mamewah.exe or a desktop shortcut to mamewah.exe (which I am having to do every time I start windows at the moment), it runs absolutely fine.
Is it time to call the exorcists in??
Any help appreciated.
Cheers
T
p.s. running Windows XP Pro

Might be a conflict with another app at startup.
In the task tray (next to the clock) How many icons are there? each one represents an app that is started automatically. If it were me, I'd say the fewer the better and kill em all from starting up. Look through the startup group and whack what you don't need. and also in the RUN section of the registry where you added mamewah.exe look and see what else is there that you don't use right away in XP.
If you need help determining whats one of the items is in the registry, PM me and we can go through it via instant messenger or something.
Good Luck
