I'm gonna need to double dip my 1p 2p start buttons, ideally I'd like to use a 30mm dpdt pushbutton, anyone ever us one and can point me to a source? I am finding stainless ones for elevators, that would be sweet since my CP is brushed stainless

Unless I am missing something, that sounds like a bag of problems. So basically putting P1 on one pole, and P2 on the other pole? How do you control whether player 1 or player 2 is selected, or are you talking about some kind of 2 position toggle switch? ???
Why not just a simple hotkey script to make it so that if the P1 button is held down for 2 seconds, it = a P2 Start, or a key combo where P1 start +P2 button 1 = P2 start

Duly noted, but off the mark. Looking to send a button press to 2 things at once, 2 buttons, 2 switches, 2 devices.
Anoyne have a source for 30mm(ish) dpdt buttons?
Stainless steel elevator buttons would actually be cool, the press tacticity/rebound doesn't matter they are just start buttons. Hoping to just buy 2, not a minimum 40x order like I'm finding on Alibaba.com

Trying to find a blue and red set, green is cool though :D
Bummer, it's dpst but they're not both NC :( I would need it to be 2x NC

Might be able to swap the LED inside.

Looks like Digi-Key (https://www.digikey.com/), and Mouser (https://www.mouser.com/) have a better selection and prices than Amazon on these.
Use keywords "DPDT Vandal".

Don't get too excited yet.
Looks like most of them are smaller than 30mm. :banghead:

Well you pointed me the right direction

Just too expnsive, found these:
https://m.alibaba.com/product/60715259180/30mm-220-Volt-DPDT-2no-2nc.html?s=p&spm=a2706.7843667.1998817009.1.02Qx4d (https://m.alibaba.com/product/60715259180/30mm-220-Volt-DPDT-2no-2nc.html?s=p&spm=a2706.7843667.1998817009.1.02Qx4d)
But min order is 10, anyone else looking for some of these things?

I'm confused why do you need DPDT, just hook 2 wires to each terminal on a regular button and run each to the respective device.
-
Also wouldn't it be DPST, you want to press one button and have it send a signal to 2 devices at the same time with a single press?

They can be DPST. BUT. Both poles need to be NC, not a DPST switch that has both NO and NC poles

That's how you fry your electronics

Found 2 good part numbers
IB30A-P22F-ER6V/S
And
IB30A-P22F-EB6V/S
Check em out!

They are quoting $16 for the shipping seems high but they look legit.
I am also looking at these but without the Braille and cut with a 1 And 2 respectively.

Not sure how you can fry electronics by combining if they use a common ground.

Well all my controls are daisy chained to the same ground so I must be destined to have my cab erupt in an unforgivable fire any day now. ::)

Please keep this thread 30mm dpdt button related.
-
The topic never veered away from 30mm dpdt buttons. :dunno - Just a couple of us suggesting the use of dpst vs dpdt. I think even spst is fine in most cases, but dpst would ensure the circuits are not overlapping, there should be no reason to fear frying electronics. Since you haven't shared any info as to why your setup would require dpdt, you can't fault us for trying to make a suggestion that would potentially make your job finding buttons easier.

This thread is not supposed to be project specific it's supposed to be about 30mm DPDT momentary pushbuttons!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I have never used one and can’t point you to a source.

Three more possibilities to consider.
1. Use a normal 30mm button to control a 5v DPDT solid state relay.
2. Remix the 3D printed button here (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:941782) so it holds two microswitches.
3. If a DPST setup will work, consider using a GGG ClassX button with two stacked True-Leaf Pro switches.
You'll need longer screws and a non-conductive 3D printed actuator between the top arms of the switches.
When the plunger presses the first top switch arm, the actuator presses the second top switch arm.

That leaf switch option is interesting. If I had a 3d printer I would jump on it. Think a person could get away with a fabrication from a piece of plexi and a dremel?

I highly doubt that it would be.possible.
The actuator would have to be wide enough (0.25-0.3" ?) to prevent wobble in the contacts-to-tabs axis.
It would also have to be a precise enough fit to keep it from slipping up or down the leaf arms despite repeated presses.
GGG True-Leaf switch arms are 0.251" wide, 0.012" thick, and 0.128" apart.
The lower switch is 0.368" below the upper switch.
Here is an improved design.
