Title: Need advice and help with a Star Wars yoke build
Post by: redfivexw on November 12, 2017, 09:10:31 pm
Hi everyone,
I need some advice, and probably help with a build I have wanted to do for years now.  I have an original "lock on" cabinet with the Star Wars type flight yoke.  I want to do a multi board with Star Wars, ESB, ROTJ, paperboy, roadblasters, and any other game that can use this setup.  I want as simple a system as I can get.  I have an old dual strike controller, not sure if that is relevant or if there is a good way to input the yoke to the computer or raspberry pi or whatever will work best.  I don't mind installing an led monitor.  I have worked with hyper spin and game ex and then bought the first raspberry pi but it worked lousy.  I have not done anything else for a system in years.  What is the easiest system that will run at full speed and have a simple front end that will require no extra buttons?  Does anyone offer a service to set it up?  any and all help appreciated

If I understand you right, you want to hook up your yoke to a computer?

If that is the case, then use an A-Pac for the simplest way to interface with the PC.

I think the best cab you want to emulate is Le Chuck's Star Wars Cabaret.http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,152903.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,152903.0.html)

I also did something similar with an broke Atari Hydra and made it a multi-yoke mame cab.

He and I used Attract Mode for the frontend.
