Im at the stage now where Im close to 2 weeks away from playing games on an assembled cabinet! woo for me... I am baffled though by the amount of mame versions, front ends and utility programs there are out there and need some advice on what I should use. I am running mame on a 1.6 mHz Athalon/ using XP and a TV as my monitor (7200 radon w/ S-Video out)
Here is what I am hoping to find out ....
1. What are ALL the programs you use for Mame (i.e. Dragon King, Mame 32, MameWah, Arcade OS, ClrMamePro, sortinfo, etc.)
2. What are ALL the programs would you recommend I have to keep my mame under control?
The programs can be either DOS based or Win based, but I do have a couple caviats. I would like a front end that will boot when the computer turns on, is good to look at, and one that is quite customizable (possibly allowing for multiple menus) I would like to be able to sort games by number of players and type of joysticks used as well as punt most of those Jap quiz games I cant read anyway.
Thaanks for the assist!

Im using Mamewah and it r0x ;D You can make it startup when the computer does, just copy a shortcut into the startup folder.
Mamewah has a simple layout when you first use it, BUT it comes with a layout designer and theres some sites with skins too.
One site is http://www.screenshotarchive.com/ Im using the Fight skin :)
