I'm not sure if this should go here or in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. Just thought I would ask anybody if they were decent joysticks.

These are the same sticks as are in the x-arcade controller. Don't buy them if the bid goes very high--you can buy them right from the x-arcade website, or you used to be able to.
I've heard people here compare them to the Happs supers, but I don't own either, so there you go. I personally am inclined to stick with what's more standard and what people know (and have hacked, etc), but hey, I'm a coward and I admit it.

These are direct from X-arcade. You can also pickup 2 joys and 20 buttons from them for like $20.
They are nice if you are on a budget and can't find any used joys striped from old cabs.
I have them and they are nice enough for me ;D

2 for $11 seems reasonable to me. Looks like he's charging actual shipping too. ($6.95)

have fun.

The X-Arcade sticks are nice and solid and have a decent feel and definitely solid spring back to center. The only thing I don't like about them are the switches...a bit loud, replace these with some nice, quiet Cherry's though and the sticks are good to go.

I hate to hijack the thread, but I have the exact same question but with different joysticks :P

Those joysticks look like T-Stick Pluses with ball tops?
Edit: Not T-Stick Pluses, but they do look like 4-8 way switchable joys.
-
I think you are correct they are 8/4 way switchable, but I was wondering if anyone used them. If they feel nice etc.
-
A note on the x-arcade sticks. I have a pair as well as Happs Supers and basically they are the same stick. Happs has cherry microswitches which are better quality (and quieter) but the "feel" is the same...they are good sticks for the price.
One other note, that auction listed them as 4/8-way sticks, they aren't. Those sticks are stictly 8-way (although they do play 4-way games better than most 8-ways.
-
I've seen these joysticks... I think from a hong kong distributer. I thought they might go well on a cocktail table.
Anyway, minimum order was 100 pieces... So I couldn't tell you how they feel. But they SEEM like they should be GREAT (for anyone who likes ball tops. and 15 bucks for 2 switchable sticks and 20 buttons is great.

I have a set of these joysticks(the red ball top ones) I havent actually used them yet... not sure if they are 4/8way switchable tho... havent figured out how to yet... so if someone knows.. :)

Wouldn't the restrictor plates on the bottom need to have a square/diamond shape for them to be 4/8 switchable? From the picture it looks like the plate just has a circle cutout so it would be 8 way no matter way direction the plate was put.

I think you are correct... although it does say 4/8 on the box ??? anybody?

Spaced, maybe you know this or maybe not -
I can't say about the X-arcade sticks - The Happ Supers are sold as 4/8-way because you can flip the actuator over to make it harder to hit the diagonals. It's not a true 4-way, but closer.

I have an X-arcade in my cabinet and I think the joysticks feel great! I'm not exactly a joystick connisseur (sp?) but they feel good to me. I have a game called U.N. Squadron that has similar looking joysticks in them and they feel aweful because they are sooo loose. Unfortunately, that's about all I have to compare 'em too.
