Title: unknown-command-line-option-'monitor' in ArcadeOS
Post by: andyshan on January 29, 2004, 01:25:13 pm
i keep getting the following text when i try and run a game using ArcadeOS and AdvanceMAME:

unknown-command-line-option '-monitor'

I am using a SIS 6326 and Hantarex 9000 Arcade monitor. Arcade OS works fine... just cant get a game to work with advancemame through it! agghhh

Help please!!!!  :(

EDIT:
Also when i try and run any games from the command prompt, I.e:

advmame pacland

The game looks like it's about to start but then then once it's loaded most of the roms it then says "required files are missing the game cannot be run" However the games work fine in normal MAME (I need to use advancemame cos i'm in the cabinet)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andy

If i remember correctly, you had to delete this line from the config for some setups, if you do try this please backup the config first incase i'm completely wrong.

as for your other problem, it sounds like your normal mame and advmame are mismatched (i.e. one is older than the other) and roms for mame get changed or get renamed, if some games work and some don't this would be the likely case.
