Title: Sega Cool Riders Wiring Diagram Request..
Post by: immortalsoule on August 28, 2017, 02:49:08 pm

I was wonder, before i had to tear into my controller and do it manually, if someone already had a sega cool riders steering/button diagram?

Also, what USB to Arcade interface would be best to make it work?

Manual: http://www.gamesdatabase.org/Media/SYSTEM/Arcade//Manual/formated/Cool_Riders_-_1995_-_Sega.pdf (http://www.gamesdatabase.org/Media/SYSTEM/Arcade//Manual/formated/Cool_Riders_-_1995_-_Sega.pdf)

The steering control parts list is around pages 58-61, controls maintenance is around pages 66-70.

The archive.org "Sega Cool Riders" page here (https://web.archive.org/web/20100317211557/http://www.segaarcade.com/archive/coolriders.aspx) has a link to the wiring diagram at https://web.archive.org/web/20091222045711/http://www.segaarcade.com:80/pdfs/coolriders/Cabinet_wiring_diagram.pdf (https://web.archive.org/web/20091222045711/http://www.segaarcade.com:80/pdfs/coolriders/Cabinet_wiring_diagram.pdf).

By "make it work", do you mean that you want to convert this cab to MAME?

If so, you'll need an analog encoder for the potentiometers.

There are 3 analog axes per player -- handlebar ("yolk" on schematics  :lol), throttle ("throt"), and brake. ("break" on schematics  :lol)

P1 controls are located lower right and P2 controls are located top center of schematic page 1.

See related thread here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,154993.0.html) for analog encoder and reversable conversion suggestions. (please don't maim for MAME)
