Title: Donkey Kong Side Panel Bolts?
Post by: Smoke-Inator on July 30, 2017, 09:55:38 am
I'm building a DK cabinet and was wondering about the 5 bolts on the side panel are used for...

I found the top ones...Its for the monitor's upper support bar.

What are the other 3 for?
What size?
I think they attach to the monitor chassis
Are they really needed?
Can the monitor go in with the bolts in place ahead of time?

If im lucky enough, I do want to put a 20EZ in here at one point so I'm building as close to the plans as possible.
It looks like they will be covered by the side art so putting in after assembly will be costly.

Thanks,
Ron

I thought there was just 3 on the side and they were all used to hold the monitor supports. What am I missing?

I've built 2 DK's and I always went for a smooth exterior and only mounted the monitor supports on the inside with no exterior bolt heads.

The other three are for horizontal monitor setups, like Popeye.

Haven't gotten that far yet. I'm still cutting and routing.

Initially i thought of simply using the black cardboard repro's that are out there...I wont know until i get the basic cabinet built.
My goal is to add all the supports for original hardware if i can find it one day...Until then, i'll be "augmenting" the monitor shelf to hold the LCD.

If i use the cardboard, ill get the right size for the monitor by scaling down the image size to fit.

I hope to start a build thread soon...Its amazing how much crap you can order for these things...The last of my parts will be in this week.
I laid out all of the parts this weekend on the dining room table and its amazing.

If i finish cutting and routing today, I'll be far enough along to get a build thread started....I'm slow but, enjoying the process...I've never done any sort of woodworking

Sorry, I meant the bezel artwork. I have an extra set of bezel artwork. Lemme know if you're interested in it. I'd let it go cheap.
