Post by: Vincefaro on July 27, 2017, 04:20:41 pm
I can't get my Powermate to work with my machine , which is a  WIN 7 machine . It works perfectly on my Mac but it does not control anything on my Arcade . it does light up when I plug in . I've tried to use the software , but it does not seem to help. Any Ideas ?

I'm not familiar with this device, but it'll light up when you plug it in simply because it's getting power from the USB port. This doesn't mean the device is recognized by Windows. Look in Device Manager and see if it's listed at all. If not, or it's listed but marked as not working, see if you can get a driver from the manufacturer's website.

I used a griffin powermate on my mini DK build and it works flawlessly. However, I do remember their being a bit of a catch with the drivers.

If I recall, Griffin never intended (maybe they do now) to have Windows 7 64bit drivers. Said another way, the drivers are definitely not native. You need to find the drivers online.

I'd also try using this knob on another fresh Windows machine to narrow the problem down. It's got to be a driver issue. Make sure you are using Griffin's software and you might have to run it in compatibility mode.

Did you look at the old thread regarding the powermate? Not sure if this will help you or not. But I know it helped me years ago on my jukebox.
