Post by: SpyhunterUK on July 23, 2017, 05:07:39 am
I have never done this before but how do I get power to the Coin Door light (see below)?

Thanks.

Consider swapping the coin door incandescent bulb for a high-intensity wedge-base LED -- longer life, lower current draw.

If you use the SATA to Molex splitter (https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-LP4SATAFM12-12-Inch-Molex-Adapter/dp/B0014BL9PE/) I mentioned in your other post, cut off the last Molex (upper right) and splice extensions to either the 12v/Gnd (yellow/black) or 5v (red/black) wires and run them to the tabs on the coin door lamp socket.

Euro-style terminals are a great choice for splicing the extension wires.

Your choice of soldering or 0.110"(?) Quick Disconnects for the socket connections.
