Title: SNES Pad help
Post by: Jam on January 28, 2004, 10:08:10 am
Hey guys, could you give me some help with this. I've wired up a SNES parallel interface (using this schematic: http://www.arcadecontrols.com/Mirrors/www.ziplabel.com/dpadpro/snes.html), I've double checked all my connections and everything but I can't seem to get any input from the pad.

I've hooked it up to an old pI laptop for testing, the only response I can get is when I use SNES-TEST (http://snespad.emulationworld.com/files/snestest.zip), the 'B' button works. The only possible explaination I can figure is that I'm using 1n4148 diodes instead of 1n914. Any thoughts anyone?

i built 2 of those.  Each with 2 controllers on it.  The first one I made worked PERFECT right away.  So I couldn't understand why the 2nd one didn't work.  I had triple checked the wires.  After I checked it 5 or 6 times I started seeing where my problems were.

Keep checking it.  Sorry I can't be more helpful..but I guess it could be the diodes.  They're going the right direction, right?
