Title: reasonable priced vendor for .187 female quick.....
Post by: GroovyTuesdaY on January 27, 2004, 06:32:00 pm
I found a vendor that i have ordered from before and that i trust that carries the .187 FEMALE quick disconnects at a pretty good price for quantities of 100.

Heres the link :

Damn!  With prices like that, I'm going to have to hang up my hat!

Edit: I spoke too soon.  Unless you're going to be placing a large order with them, their per-piece pricing is low, but their shipping is quite high.  There is a $2.99 handling fee on top of all orders, plus shipping.  The price for a single box of disconnects would be $3.65 + $6.50 shipping.  And that's 4th class rate.  Their carrier of choice is UPS, so expect rates to be much higher.

wow, thats a chunk for shipping something that small. Why do companies do that crap?  ???    I have ordered some stuff from them before, but its been about a  year and a half ago. I dont remember being charged a 2.99 fee back then, but its probably been added, which kinda sucks.   Im glad you pointed that out. :D

Be sure to let me know if your situation changes and you can sell some more of the quick disconnects.

groovy~

Personally, I like www.allelectronics.com.  They have a flat $7 or $6 shipping charge.  Peale was selling them and RandyT of www.groovygamegear.com sells them also.

Also, you can get a decent price from the real bob roberts.  He has fully insolated ones in bags of 50 I believe.  His shipping is exact with no minimum.

As a note out there.  I bought a bag of 50 blues from Peale to go with what I already had.  These handle thicker wire.  These are REALLY nice for grounds (where you have two wires... one incoming and one outgoing.  Also makes it quick and easy to see the grounds...  I recommend getting some for all who constantly build more control panels.

I forgot Bob sells them.  He's a great guy.

He may be a great guy but he hasn't replied to an email I sent a week ago about ordering stuff from him. I ended up ordering the stuff cheaper from happs and it was here in 2 days. If I send Bob a check he probably won't get it in 2 days.

Sometimes email gets lost for one reason or another.  As much as we'd like to think so, email is not more reliable than the post office.  My ISP has lost more mail than I care to count, and yet I can not have my own mail server, or the mail will get bounced on the receiving side.

btw... make sure that you title does look like this

En1rge yur P3N1S for Ch33p!

and you will do better...

btw... he cross ships in some cases (did for me the first time I ordered from him).  So I wouldn't worry about timing.

And your email probably got filtered somewhere down the line...

I was VERY upset about happs shipping charges when I ordered stuff from them.

I'm with you brother about the happs shipping charges. They can shock you.  What ticked me off was i didn't even know how much shipping was going to be.  The Happs customer server rep. couldn't give me an exact total until after it it had been processed through shipping, which is a load of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- in my book.
I will avoid ordering direct from happs again unless they have some kind of SUPER SALE like the first time i ordered from them.  They had buttons on sale for a buck apiece and the happ supers were 7.50 a pop and you just cant beat that!! :D
As far as bob roberts, that guy has his act together EXTREMELY well compared to most businesses.  Many companies would do well to follow his example. Then again, most companies are in it for the money and not the love of it.
I think bob loves the community and the fact that he can still touch base with what he has done most of his adult life.  We should all be so blessed lol.

I agree about Bob Roberts being good, he probably lost your email (he has always replied to my emails within a few hours).  If you have ordered from him before he will usually volunteer cross-shipping, when I've done this the parts have arrived within 2 days!  He charges VERY close to actual shipping cost (sometimes more, sometimes less) and since he uses USPS, things can arrive on Saturday too.  I've ordered on Thursday and got my package on Saturday!  That rocks...

I'm still selling them.  This time around I've got fully shielded.

Wow, I've been paying ~6.50(including tax) at my local home depot for 100 of these guys.  But I guess that's not too bad considering its local, and that the lower prices online still need shipping charges added to them(and you have to wait).

I went to the local real hardware store (not home depot) and asked if they had any .187" female quick disconnects.

The guy said, "no, but we got some 3/16ths ones."

The bag of 100 was $4.

Hehe, im just going off of straight mathematics here  but....

I thought what that guy said on MinerAl's post was funny since
isn't 3/16 =  .1875 which is basically .187?  Or does the 5 ten-thousandths make a difference?
