Title: MAME backdrops

Trying to add some MAME backdrops for Discs of Tron and Space Invaders to my Hyperspin/Rocket launcher setup.
Managed to do bezels okay (since disabled), but kinda stumped at the backdrops.
Downloaded some from here:
http://mrdo.mameworld.info/mame_artwork_ingame.php?f=bd (http://mrdo.mameworld.info/mame_artwork_ingame.php?f=bd)

and tried adding the zip and unzipping it to the artwork folder in my MAME directory, and also to the artwork folder in my rocketlauncher/media folder but no cigar.
The background option is turned on in rocket launcher and mame ini.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, kinda stumped.
Using MAME 0.178 64 bit.
Keen to get that cool backdrop for DOT and asteroids deluxe, etc!

Welcome aboard, Roboman.   ;D

Launch the game then press Tab to bring up the MAME menus.

In the "Video Options" menu select "Upright Artwork" or other option as desired and you can enable/disable various elements like bezels using the options on the lower part of the menu.   :cheers:

Thanks for that, but unfortunately I had already tried that and everything was enabled correctly, but no backdrops appearing :(

So you highlighted the "Video Options" menu top option "Upright Artwork" and hit Enter to change to that view, but it didn't change the view and enable the backdrops for Discs of TRON?  :dizzy:

Are the still zipped artwork + layout files (i.e. 2.96 MB file dotron.zip (http://mrdo.mameworld.info/artwork/dotron.zip) containing one .LAY file and 5 .PNG files) in the folder indicated in mame.ini?

With this mame.ini setting, MAME will look for "dotron.zip" (contains the Discs of TRON art files) in the "artwork" subdirectory.

"..\MAME\artwork\dotron.zip"

Hey Man, that worked a treat.
Thank you so much!!!
I think cause I had unzipped the contents as well it was confusing MAME, so I deleted the files and just left the zip in there as well.
Space Invaders now works as well.
The backdrops add so much to the game for me.
