Title: Anyone use these before? Top mounted restricter plates from ????
Post by: tommyinajar on May 27, 2017, 12:29:20 pm
I looked and saw very little info on these and none here that I could find.
I saw this Arcade Joystick switchable Restrictor
 http://www.mameroom.com/webstore.asp?productid=JOYSTICKRESTRICTOR&category=195 (http://www.mameroom.com/webstore.asp?productid=JOYSTICKRESTRICTOR&category=195)

 & http://www.hollandcomputers.com/store/pc/Arcade-Joystick-switchable-Restrictor-plate-for-4-or-8-way-play-For-Sanwa-and-Zippy-ball-top-Joysticks-p10851.htm (http://www.hollandcomputers.com/store/pc/Arcade-Joystick-switchable-Restrictor-plate-for-4-or-8-way-play-For-Sanwa-and-Zippy-ball-top-Joysticks-p10851.htm)

They sell them on Ebay also so I don't know who makes them, but was wondering if they were any good. I'm looking for a new easy top switchable nonelectrical option for a common joystick.

I hate to drop $40 or 50 on a  gimmicky worthless option.

(edit- yes I know about magstick u360 ... :) )

There is an earlier post about them here. It appears a lot of people bought them but there wasn't a lot of feedback on how they actually worked.

Thanks much! I wanted to see what was involved and how rough of movement it was. Seems like a lot of people bought them, but only 1 installed it or at least wrote about it. It was also moved to reviews from the thread.

I was also searching for retoarcade.us and Holland computers who sells them so that didn't help.

Looks like they work good. Off to order a couple. Thank you again.

I just responded in the other thread, but I'll post it here as well:

I've had mine installed for awhile.  They work as advertised and saved me a heap of trouble/money.  I think it works great and was well worth the investment for what I was looking for.

I can imagine that many here would object to the aesthetics of it.  They're not the prettiest, but not objectionable to me for my setup.

I am considering getting one of these for my tankstick, however the buttons are pretty close to the joystick so I am not sure if the plate will fit without relocating the joystick...

Could you do me a favor and measure the diameter of the plate?  I can't find this info anywhere.  Thanks! :)

I'll measure it first chance I get.  But my CP is actually based on the tankstick layout, so it SHOULD fit on yours.
