Title: 2 Servosticks in one control panel. Is it worth it?
Post by: Jakobud on May 14, 2017, 12:36:17 am
Is it worth having 2 Servosticks? Or should I just have one + a normal J-Stick? How many games actually use 2 4-ways at the same time? Or how many games are 2 player alternating games where each player uses their own joystick instead of the same one on their turn AND uses 4 way joysticks?

I run two servosticks, I like it.

Tank Force, Assault, are 2x 4-way.

Setting the sticks for 4-way makes them work a little better 2-way, so Joust and Battlezone benefit.

My panel is 2 player with the sticks on each side of the centered trackball with player buttons to the right of the sticks.  I like having the choice of using either stick in a 4-way game depending on what feels most comfortable.  Pacman is a centered stick, no button game. I prefer to play it right handed with right side stick and stand centered to the monitor.  For 4-way games with more than one buttons I usually opt for left handed using the left stick.     Having both sticks switch also keeps things simple for guests who often seem to randomly choose a stick.
