Hey all,
I'm new to this world, so I'm probably doing this all wrong but what the hell, its a learning experience!!
I picked up a 'Big Red' cabinet cheap, gutted it out and installed a 2019-in-1 Jamma board, and have wiring for 4 player (first two players having 6 button support). She's now running a 27" 16:9 LCD as I wasn't able to find a 30" 16:10

What I've picked up are two controller boards, one 4 player 4 button (simpson game perhaps?) , and a stock Street fighter 2 player 6 button.

At the moment I've got it setup just running the 2 player 6 button board, and I'm thinking of modifying the 4 player board by drilling two extra button holes in player 2/3 .. and making those player 1/2 , and leaving the outside ones with 4 buttons. This would mean I could play street fighter games, and also 4 player games , with minimal effort and having to build a whole new controller board. ... or do I try to get something fabricated from a thin sheet of metal
I'll post up a progress photo this weekend :-)
My main games that I play are ... Pacman and Tetris    So I've just ordered two Sanwa JLW's, as I've read here and Slagcoin they work better for 4 way gaming, so I'm hoping they work okay for the occasional 8 way game too :-)
Any advice, or info, or tips, greatly appreciated!

Good question! Go CRT all day long if you can!

To be honest, nope! :-) Its more of a 'try and see' thing, and may end up doing a second one once I get my head around everything!

Unfortunately the tube is busted, and wasn't easy to find another one locally ( I live in New Zealand ) , so I've opted for an LCD
