Title: No Blue color on arcade monitor?
Post by: crapjoint on January 26, 2004, 08:42:44 pm
My 27" arcade monitor has no blue color.  When I do the test on the machine it shows red and green and fine, but blue is just a black screen.  Below is the monitor info, can anyone help, and also tell me about my monitor?

Zenith

That's the number of the picture tube not the manufacturer or model of monitor. Zenith made some pretty bad picture tubes and it sounds like the blue 'gun' in your tube is either shot completely or very weak. Connecting it to a restorer/analyzer unit will tell you if the tube is shot or can be salvaged.

It's also possible that your blue driver transistor on the neckboard is bad.

Ok, is this an easy fix, and where on the tube can I find the model number?

I tried to find the part number on the tube, and the only thing I can find is it says on the chassis, replace only with K7500.  Does this mean it is a WG?  Does this help me?  It does have a Zenith sticker on it, but from what I've read, they made these for WG?

Wells-Gardner places the monitor model number sticker on the metal framework of the monitor---never on the picture tube. Wells-Gardner's model numbers usually go something like 25K7191 as an example.

I believe it is the K7500 as I found the spec sheet on Wells Gardner website and the chassis pictures and everything are the same so it must be the K7500.

Do you know a good way to use this with Mame?  And to fix it?  Thanks for your help.
