Title: 4 player with two xin-mo

Anyone have any luck doing a build for 4 player setup with two xin-mo encoders?

I haven't tried. I've been a little reluctant to get any of those Xin-mos due to some of the troubles I've seen people post about them. For a two-player it looks like there might be some slightly annoying issues, but issues that can be overcome. Some of the stuff I've read on setting up 4 players have had lots of weird issues, and i haven't read any posts yet with help on solving those issues. I'm guessing it can be figured out... but for the potential trouble and effort, I'd go with a 4 player ipac instead. Easier to setup... but may not work for emulators that only like Joysticks.

Use the joy to key software and map everything to keyboard inputs and avoid the whole gamepad input all together.

I think there is Joy2key available in Pi. But there is potentially a problem with the Xin-mos being seen as separate controllers based on what I've read. In which case joy2key won't help.

With joy to key and a couple of usb n64 controllers with the same id i was able to change the id on one of them to make them recognize seperately so they could be mapped to different key strokes without interfering with each other.

Not sure if Joy2key can do that on the Pi. I'd have to look it up. There is a way to specify the id I believe though. Good idea in any case just not sure how to make it go.
