How do you control the volume for your Windows 7 PC on your cabinet? I want to buy a 2.1 speaker system and have a "dial/knob" attached to the outside cabinet that controls the volume of the speaker. There are no 2.1 speaker systems that have an "attached remote" that you can run to and attach to the cabinet that I know of. What do you do? I know that on arcadecontrols.com members talk about "CABVOL" (an app someone made to control volume in Windows) Is there a way to buy a "dial/knob" and run a wire to the PC? Will something like this work? Will it control the Windows volume while in Hyperspin? (see amazon link below)

There are 2.1 speaker systems that have a dial for volume control. This is the one I have in my cab. I ran the wire for the dial through the top left of my cab out of sight next to the power button. Works like a charm.

I don't think I have touched the volume in my cabinet in over 10 years.

Audio source -> potentiometer (linked above) -> input of powered speaker system.
good day.

I'm using the Fusion USB vol controller on my cabinet. The only downside is that you need to have explorer.exe running so the gpedit modificaitons do not work for seamless booting. Otherwise it's absolutely perfect IMO.

The dongle has a super long cord so you can put it any where, its not a knob but there is a spinner/slider on the side to control the volume.
If your using a Ipac encoder I know you can use the shift function to set any buttons to adjust the volume. On my bartops I use the player one button as the Shift button then up and down on the P1 joystick to adjust the volume. Just another option.
