Title: Williams Games - Colour Labels ??????
Post by: Oldskool on January 26, 2004, 09:27:52 am

In Mame, several of the Williams games have different versions that are listed by colour.

IE: Defender - red label, Robotron - blue label, Joust - yellow label etc.

What exactly does that mean? Is there a difference in gameplay?

Thanks in advance.

It means just that..... red label had a "red label" on the start screen.  There are no other real changes, as back in the day one game could get released by several companies, the title screen often had to be modified.

The history file says "red version has default high score of 107,212 pts. green and yellow version are 109,102 pts. "

Yeah but that's just an update to the highest score they could get when they did the conversion.  :)  The highest possible score is still the same.
