HI,
Purchased a PGA golf cab with a explanation of " wont boot"
Thought it was a pc issue but on receipt its a monitor issue as ive hooked the pc to another screen and boots fine.
Pissed me off because i was geared up for PC issues but it seems monitor issues.
So the question is should I replace the monitor with an LCD or try and fix the one in place.
Ideally id like to fix the monitor in place, its there, fits well to the bezel and saves me disposing of it and buying and mounting an appropriate lcd.
With it being golf im not bothered about the visual difference between monitor swapping.
The current Pentranic 28" SVGA and CH-250 chassis looks to have power. I can see green led light on the chassis but the monitor shows no picture, no static on touch
Any quick known fixes?
If not is there anybody local to nottingham who could fix it?
Sorry this is very much out of my comfort zone and new to me.
Cheers
Julian

are you sure its a ch-250 chassis, every uk build pga I have ever seen has a svga m2948 chassis-its the grey cab with the blue monitor surround yes?
-
yeah grey cab and blue surround, I don't know enough about chassis to be 100% but upper top left of the chassis it has printed CH-250
looking at it now it may have been replaced at some point as there is a screw missing and some scuffs on a fixing higher up, looks as though the original chassis was slightly bigger?
-
yes possible its been changed, the original chassis is quite a lump with digital control-yours will be almost square in shape with analogue controls
these were not great chassis, either of them-lcd is the way forwards
-
thanks, yeah looks that way, sure i saw a loom branching off it with analogue pots.
time to strip that big lump out!
