Hey whats up guys.
I have a 27 inch wells gardner monitor that i am using as a computer monitor, but i can only get up to 640by480. but my favorite programs can only run at 800by600. my friend told me that i might be able to interlace it but he does not know how to do it. Plus everytime i open a new application my screen shakes a little bit. Could anyone help me out here, I was also told that maybe it because i dont have the right drivers. does anyone know where i could find such drivers, or how to interlace the monitor.

what video card are you using to run the monitor? What monitor is it? Its the card that does the resolutions but the monitor likely does have some limits as to how high a resolution it will still function with --I have a wells gardner K7191 and it will do 800x600 no problem. That flickering you see is the monitor adjusting to the new signal--think of it as the monitro having no signal for a brief second then getting a jolt as one comes in--seems normal enough. PC games will always look slightly crappy on arcade monitors cause the color depth and resolution can't get anywhere close to what a pc monitor can generate.

im using a intel 82810E graphics controler, i the model number on the monitor is blurry but
i believe it says (MW27-000) and (WG 15##70#)
thanx a lot, if you could tell me how to interlace my monitor i would be exteamly greatful

Is that a laptop video card? I have one in my work dell laptop (sucks crap--every time the battery dies--have to re-install the driver) I can't tell what monitor that is from those numbers so see if you can get a better look at it or maybe someone else can help you out. Like I said up above, its your video card thats controlling your resolutions, if it won't let you use 640x480 (which is interlaced) you need to update the driver or get a new one.

the video card is on my desktop, it can go 640 480 but i need it to go 600 by 800, I herd that if i interlace the card it would allow me to go up to 600 800. the monitor starts to look really jarbled, and scrambled when i try to go 600 by 800. thanx

Sorry man, if you can only go to 640x480, thats probably your max. either go pc monitor or newer arcade monitor--both of which can probably handle higher resolutions.

Dunno if you are running XFree86, but using this page (http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl (http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl)) you can calculate a modeline to enable interlaced 800x600.
