Title: ipac2 gamepad setup
Post by: Phade on March 13, 2017, 03:47:51 pm
hi guys, first post so please be gentle...

Im just upgrading the components in my cab and ive switched from a cheapo zero delay usb encoder to an ipac2.

My old encoder when set up was seen by the pc in my cab as a generic usb controller, which was great because whatever worked with a controller worked with my cab config.

Now i understand that the ipac2 substitutes my button pushes for keyboard keystokes, however if i wish to play pc games on my cab not all games have redefinable keys...so i lost the ability to play most my fighting games.

I have *with gamepad* firmware loaded onto the ipac2, however i dont really understand how i can set this up to be like a gamepad.  I can see it has 32 programmable buttons which is fine. But it only has *hat switch* for directions, which is not really any use.  Does anyone know how i can set this up to be like a gamepad with a working stick?

thanks for your time  :dizzy:

You may like to try our new Beta firmware for the I-PAC 2 which has dual gamepad support.

This splits each side of the board into separate gamepads, so all player 1 and all player 2 controls are on separate gamepads. There are 4 directions available which have been changed from hat switch to axes X and Y. Any input can be configured as any gamepad button or direction, but with a fixed segregation from one side of the board to the other, on the two gamepad devices.

Each control is also still configurable as keyboard, mouse, volume, power etc.

The new firmware is linked on www.ultimarc.com/download.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/download.html)
