Title: UV reactive artwork / molding
Post by: usaf-lt-g on March 03, 2017, 10:10:30 am
So I installed some high powered black lights the other day and am super disappointed that the cabinet features virtually no glowing effects from a black light. The Galaga artwork, the control panel, nothing other than my happ joysticks and the TRON joystick actually glows on the cabinet.

I have the Galaga green t-molding which is a standard 3/4" around the sides, but I also have 5/8" around the control panel.

What are the options available for making stuff glow with the black light? I saw 3/4" T-mold that is fluorescent but not 5/8. I also saw mention of some company illumicade back from 2015, but that appears to be dead as well.

not sure what to tell ya. if you print your artwork on some different vinyl it would glow a little bit i suppose. but i mean, it's done... there isn't much you can do about that really.

I had a friend who made some artwork with white string soaked with fluorescent highlighter ink that looked pretty nifty under BL.

if you want to go all out, you could get a roll of UV gaffers tape and tape over all your t-moulding.

not sure really what you are going for. maybe look to wall art or a carpet that is reactive instead?
