Title: Star Wars Yoke Tension Springs

Hi everyone,

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any idea what the spring force is on an Atari Yoke?
I'm looking to fabricate my own and use actual tension springs like the real deal but I can't find any info on what the tension force is on the springs.
I can always buy several sizes and try them out until I find one that feels right, but I thought I'd ask to see if someone knew.

I have no answer im afraid but I'm very interested in an answer too.

I like the star wars yoke I built last year but the spring set up I created...well, it might as well not have any springs in it at all.

I'm wondering if  strong rubber bands is the way to go?

There were some repros being sold on KLOV and I picked some up for backup (maybe a good year or two ago). You might check that out or post a WTB there. Hope that helps.

I made some of my own once using screen door springs, a butane torch, some good pliers, and a lot of patience.  Worked very well, helped that I had one spring on hand so I just needed to copy it.

Thanks for the help guys, I didn't think many people would happen to know the specific answer to this since most DIY jobs I've seen use all kinds of odd springs and rubber bands etc.
Fortunately springs are cheap, so I might just take a crack at these 5 from McMaster Carr and just swap them out until I get one I'm happy with.
Who knows, they all might be a bust.
I don't know anything about spring forces but I'm thinking the lowest one might be the best bet.
I'll post my progress when I get something working.

Good luck. Alas, my yokes bar to handles are all glued together so I can't undo and add. I'm not God's gift to DIY.

I don't mind a lack of decent resistance that much. I'll revisit one day to try and get the arcade feel back.
